Economic Development Programs Workplace Learning Resource Center and Training Institute Sponsored by the California Community College Economic Workforce Development (CCCEWD), the Workplace Learning Resource Center specializes in helping employers to assess the training needs of their employees, design customized curriculum to meet their special needs, and to provide employees with the opportunity to maintain and improve their skills through classroom training. The college also maintains a Training Institute that provides training at the employer site or at the campus. The Institute provides training in management and leadership, conflict resolution, sexual harassment prevention, basic English, basic math skills, computer literacy, and other areas. The center provides free or low-cost services to assist regional companies in conducting business abroad. Services include one-on-one technical assistance and consulting, market research, trade leads, training and educational programs. The center also provides information to businesses in the areas of distribution and logistics, export/import documentation, marketing, laws and regulations, cultural awareness, and others. The purpose of the CITD is to enhance the competitive strength of California businesses in the international marketplace and support international trade in local communities.
