Waitlists
Students may choose to place themselves on a waitlist for closed Fall and Spring classes. Being on a waitlist affords the best chance of being admitted to a closed class.
MAKE THE WAITLIST WORK FOR YOU! Here's what you need to know:
- Being on a waitlist does not guarantee admission to the class.
- Waitlisted students will automatically be registered into the waitlisted class in priority order when a seat becomes available.
- Check your registration schedule in webSTAR often! The colleges will make every attempt to notify students by email when they are moved from the waitlist into the class, but it is the student's responsibility to be aware of their registration status.
- Fees will be charged when a student is moved from the waitlist and registered in the class.
- Give the college your email address! This is how the college will notify you if you are moved from the waitlist into the class. To add or change your email address, click here.
- Do not register or place yourself on the waitlist for any other class that meets at the same time as the waitlisted class.
- Do not register or place yourself on the waitlist for another section of the same course as the waitlisted class. Example: if you are registered in English 1A, you cannot also be on the waitlist for a different section of English 1A.
- Be sure you meet the prerequisites for the waitlisted course. This means that students must have completed the prerequisite course at this college with a grade of A, B, C or CR, or must have seen a counselor for prerequisite clearance.
If you are still on the waitlist on the first day of instruction, you must attend the first class meeting! The instructor will use the waitlist on the first day of class to admit additional students (if seats are available).
